Some people are just more successful than others. Have you ever you wondered how they become that way? I surely have. Did they have a great idea or maybe they were persistent? Did they just have more luck than you? Who knows. But, there are some simple habits that help them got to the top.
1. Meditation.
Katy Perry, told Marie Claire magazine: “I start the day with Transcendental Meditation. It puts me in the best mood. I wake up and just prop myself up in bed for 20 minutes. It’s the only time my mind gets absolute rest.”
She is not alone. Jerry Seinfeld, Oprah, Jennifer Aniston, Ellen DeGeneres and Bill Ford also practice meditation and believe it’s a huge component to their success.
2. Waking Up Early.
They say the early bird catches the worm and they are right. Several studies have correlated waking up early with success, so stop sleeping late and see the benefits. Lots of leaders will say that waking up early gives them an edge in the competitive business world – Mary Barra, General Motors CEO and Richard Branson, founder and chairman of the Virgin Group are just few of them.
3. Reading.
According to Thomas Corley, author of “Rich Habits – The Daily Success Habits of Wealthy Individuals” 67 percent of rich people only watch TV for one hour or less per day. Corley also found that 88 percent of wealthy people claim they read for 30 minutes or more per day.
Mark Cuban reads 3 hours a day and Bill Gates for 1 hour before bed. There are other successful people that are book lovers too, like president Obama and Albert Einstein.
These are really easy habits that everyone can do – and they cost nothing. Don’t try to do them all at once. Pick the easiest habit for you, and then do it until it becomes a natural part of your routine.
